Research In To Music

The Possession

We researched the backing track for the possession and found the music with no dialogue. We like how slow the tempo is as we feel it creates tension. The choir make it feel more dramatic and eery. as other instruments come in such as the piano it gets louder and build up suspense. When the choir stops whispering muffles start which is really creepy and we really like this idea and are hoping to create something similar for our sounds. By the end of the trailer the choir is in full harmony together as one ands it is so loud and powerful, you can imagine loads of fast dramatic shots happening during this sound.

The Others

We also looked into the backing tracks of the film 'The Others and we found that this was the most effective one from the film, we liked how it starts off slow and soft and then the tempo kicks in a bit, we thought this portrayed the Horro genre very well. We liked the instruments used in this soundtrack, with the mixes of different violins.

House At The End Of The Street

We liked the very beginning of this soundtrack, with the tinkering sounds, we thought it sounded very effective, it's as if they are wind chimes. The beat then picks up with some distorted sounds, which then turn very eery and scary, we thought this would work very well in our trailer, it sounds very creative and scary.
