The shots below are all screen shots from the film The Posession, we found this trailer very inspirational, for what shots we would like to try and interpret into our horror trailer, the shots below are some which we think we can create, they're very simple shots but at the same time, very effective.
I found the shot of when it's a close up shot of the girl in bed at night, and all you can see is one of her eyes, I think this suits the genre of horror so much, as it look so creepily. I think this is such a simple shot, but very effective, it would look so good, if we tried and did this shot.
This shot is a great shot, this is when the mum of the girl is looking around down the hall, the lighting is perfect in this shot, it's just lit so you can see her face clearly, but dark at the same time, so you know it's meant to be scary. This is definately what I would like to include in my horror trailer.
The shot of the girl turning around suddenly in bed is very scary, as it is such a quick shot, one second you can't see her and all you can see is her sleeping from behind and then she turns around and stares right into the camera, this brings the audience right into, as it is so catchy.
I found the shot of looking through the glass, a very clever shot, it makes the face look deformed, and you can't tell who it is, which is very mysterious, I think this would be agreat quick shot in our trailer, it looks very effective.
I found this shot if shadows, a very creative shit, I also thought this would be a great quick shot, like the glass shot, it looks very creepily and interesting.
This is one of my favourite shots, where the man is looking at something else and all of a sudden you can see a masked face in the webcam, I think this is such a creative shot, it's very scary and it would definately make the audience jump.
I find simple shots like this one here of zooming in on doors, seems very clever, there just great quick and simple shots, which you can include a few times, through out the trailer.
